Here
I have created an FAQ .... Now some of this is a little on
the snarky
side but I figured that if your reading this keeping it totally business could get a little
boring. However the answers are real and
there is a lot of good info about bodypainting and how I work.
Q : Is it cold?
A: Yes it is but I try to make you as comfortable as possible
and
am very responsive to my model's
needs.
Q: How long
does it take?
A: About 2-7 hours for the model but 20-30 hours
for a full backdrop project.
Q: Do you paint men?
A: YES! And I am always short of male
models - so step up guys.
Q: Do I have to have a
"professional model" body?
A: No but a good self-esteem helps greatly. I prefer fun
personality over
perfect looks and welcome all body types and age ranges (over 18 of
course)
Q: Do you test for
allergies?
A: Yes. I have only seen one person react badly to make up
(Liquid
latex) in the last 10 years. I’m very happy that we
tested
first, so no harm was done. I use only top quality,
hypo-allergenic theatrical make-up, so outside a Latex specific issue I
have never encountered a problem.
Q: Will you face paint
for my Son’s B-day party?
A: Is he over 18? Are all his friends over 18? NO?
- Hire a Clown. I don't do balloon animals either.
Q: What do you do with
the pictures?
A: It depends on the project. Most of them I put on my
website
and Galleries in hopes to sell a
few prints. However for private sessions and events
photography
is a separate arrangement and the photos belong to the client (with
certain understandings as to personal vs. commercial use).
Every
contract is different and all thing are negotiable.
Q: Can we use our own photographer?
A: Sure, that will be fun.
Q: I’m only
17 can I be painted with permission from my
parents?
A: NO! ... not just no, HELL NO! Go
away. Leave me alone. Don’t come back for
3 more years - just to be safe... And
because you want to be painted so bad ... Bring 3 forms of ID
(Shudders)
Q: What about my
Tattoo(s)?
A: Cool can I see? (If the answer was no why are you
asking)...
Really I can cover it up or make it work with
the painting. And if you want we can test the make up there
like
a
coloring book. I have one model who is having me recreate her
entire body as the bigger than life version of a tattoo on her arm.
Is that cool, or what?
Q: Why Bodypainting?
A: I love working with people, and there is something about watching
someone feel beautiful that makes me smile. I seem to have a knack for
making people feel comfortable. And flat surfaces can be soooo boring.
Q: Do you date your
models?
A : NOPE! Not if they are my models first, though I have
painted
a girlfriend or two. I married my wife before I painted her
as
Imp!
Q: Do you ever have
problems with models being harassed by your audience?
A: When working in public I have a bodyguard for the models, and I just
happen to be 6'4" and 220LB and taking Kung-fu. The last guy
who tried something got his ass kicked (She's one tough woman - perhaps
the tiger bodypaint should have been a warning to him?) before I even
had a chance to step in.
Q: What kind of Paint
do you use?
A: I do not use "Paint" on the models. I use
theatric stage
make-up. The stuff I use requires water, but except in the
face
area I use rubbing alcohol instead. It works just the
seam,
is more hygienic and dries faster. Here is a good link to get
some
of your own. www.bodypainting.com
